The Bristol, North Somerset, & South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) Paediatric Joint Formulary

Please click here for the BNSSG adult formulary.

The Traffic Light Status (TLS) of each drug agreed during the development process may be subject to change as the formulary is utilised. It is not intended that the new formulary is used to change the way in which established patients currently receive their prescriptions. There are a number of drugs that have been given an Amber TLS that do not currently have Shared Care Protocols in place. These will be developed within 6 months of establishment of the formulary or the TLS will become Red. If you have any comments or questions about the formulary or the Traffic light status of a drug please get in touch using the ‘Enquiry Form’ section of the website.

Please see the 'Recent Joint Formulary Group Decisions' for the most recent changes to the website

The Paediatric Joint Formulary has been built in the spirit of cooperative collaboration between Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire and Bristol Royal Children's Hospital and has been designed as an advisory/guidance tool to assist in promoting cost-effective prescribing within the BNSSG Health Community. It is a joint venture between primary and secondary care, covering all prescribing within the BNSSG Health community. This therefore ensures that patients have continuity of medicines across the primary/secondary care interface.

It is hoped that the Joint Formulary will cover 80-90% of prescribing although it is recognised that there will be instances where prescribing outside of the formulary will be necessary.

The Joint Formulary is a constantly evolving and dynamic document. Please use the contact link provided to get in touch.
